06.10.2008. - The deadline for entering the public competition for the text of national hymn of Bosnia and Herzegovina expired. Since June this year, when the competition started, the Ministry of Justice of BiH had received 333 national anthem text proposals. Public opening of the proposals will be held on Monday, 6 October 2008, at 2 p.m.

The proposals, which were sent under codes, will be opened by representatives of the Commission for National Anthem Text Selection: Chairman Hilmo Neimarlija, MP in the House of Peoples of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Deputy Chairmen: Martin Raguž, MP in the House of Representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina and Ranko Risojević, Director of the National and University Library of the Republika Srpska, and the Secretary to the Commission Jusuf Halilagić, Secretary to the Ministry of Justice of BiH. The names of authors will remain anonymous until the end of selection.

In the coming period members of the Commission, MPs, prominent writers and music authors will select ten best texts that will pass to the next round of evaluation. The best text will be proposed to the Council of Ministers of BiH to adopt it, while the author of the selected text will receive a reward of BAM 30,000.
