Welcome to the web site of the Ministry of Justice of Bosnia and Herzegovina!                          

Our intention is to contribute with here presented contents to understanding of all aspects of work of Ministry of Justice of Bosnia and Herzegovina, to provide insight into the most important activities, but also to provide a range of useful information.

With modern Internet and design solutions, this web site contains easy-to-survey bases of laws and other regulations, international agreements and conventions, strategic projects, documents and similar. Except for the expert community, the web site is intended for all citizens who exercise their rights and legal interests through the Ministry of Justice of B&H. Through this web site, you can learn, among other, how to establish and register an association, how to take a bar or professional examination, but you can also obtain all necessary forms, instructions, literature...

Ministry of Justice of B&H plays the key role in harmonization of legislation and standards of judicial system in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

During its previous activities, the Ministry prepared more than a hundred of laws and a number of other regulations at the State level and created conditions for efficient functioning of judicial bodies of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Through the Ministry of Justice, Bosnia and Herzegovina realizes international legal assistance in criminal and civil matters. By administrative inspection over execution of laws by B&H institutions, the Ministry of Justice of B&H ensures a reliable, cost-effective and professional public administration.

Complex administrative structure of the State, divided judicial system and lack of coordinated activities in the Justice Sector, defined direction of our pro-reform orientations; the first comprehensive State plan for Justice Sector Reform is being made /Draft Strategy for Justice Sector Reform/, as well as Action Plan for solving the unsolved court cases, Project for construction of the high-security Prison /Institution for Execution of Criminal Sanctions, Detention and Other Measures at the State level/, is being implemented, and drafting of Strategy for solving the issues of war crimes is in the process, etc.

Ministry of Justice of Bosnia and Herzegovina is the first State institution that has created conditions for starting the implementation of the Council of Ministers Rules of Consultation in Drafting of Legal Regulations, and thus enabled the public to participate directly, through this web site, in drafting of laws they are interested in.

As we want our work to be transparent and all information to be available to the public, communication with you will be very useful to us.
